I first became acquainted with George Benton at Gifts & Engraving by George in
my capacity as Chairman of the Glens Falls Centennial Committee (2007-2008).
We were looking for appropriate awards to present to our major donors during the
City’s 100th Birthday Year. We tried always to shop locally for any purchases
made during this celebration. Gifts & Engraving by George certainly qualified as
being local. More importantly, George Benton is good! The quality of material and
workmanship is always of the highest standard, and the projects are always done
expeditiously and with a personal and individual touch.
Because of the great experience working with George Benton for The City of Glens
Falls, it was an easy and obvious decision to go to George for The Charles R. Wood
Theater when, as a member of the Board of Directors, I was asked to get some
awards and plaques done for The Rising Stars program and our collection of vintage
community photographs. I went to George with an outline of what I wanted, and
he created absolutely stunning products.
In my work with The Lake George Dinner Theatre and Wrightstage Productions I
have had occasion to use George Benton as well. He is always my first choice and
